How do you know when your having a heart attack?
Question by Brenda: How do you know when your having a heart attack?
What I’m looking to find out is… what kind of pain is it and where? Is in the heart itself? Can it be in the surrounding area? Like off to the side, under the left arm? I’m having what seems to be like cramps or cramping from my heart area out to my left side. I do have an anxiety disorder and am trying to tell the differnce basically. I have had some health issues lately and I’ve been addressing them (including losing 71 lbs). But this pain has occured at least 3 times tonight and I’m just a little concerned. My kid asked me if I was having an attack if she needed to call 911. I told I didn’t think so and no.. don’t call. Now it’s 1 am and the cramping is present again. I would like to know what kind of pain I need to look out for. I don’t want to miss or ignore warning symptoms. Could it be something like “angina”? Not sure of what that is, but my husband has to take pills for it. Anyone have info that might help me out tonight? Thanks….
Thanks for all your feedback. I do believe something is happening and may have to go into the ER soon. I made a list of things that are bothering me now and things that have been there for the past year. They do include chest pain, irregular heart beat/palpitations, weird feelings in my legs, sweating & hot flashes (could be menopause), hurting back for the past week, numbness in my fingers (off and on for the past year), sudden headaches (today), and maybe others I’ve not taken notice of yet. I suspect that I probably am a little dehydrated. I never do drink enough water. I’m taking a vitamin.. because of the dieting. I’ll get out there and get some help. I appreciate everyone’s feedback.

Q&A: Discrmination Case (Please Help) I want the national to know about our federal governemnt?
Question by Ron L: Discrmination Case (Please Help) I want the national to know about our federal governemnt?
I had been employed with the United States Eastern Bankruptcy Court for 23 years. However, on April 22, 2010, I was wrongfully terminated due to my race, gender and age. My new manager didn’t like me. I had the most senority of everyone including him and I was the highest paid employee. I was of a “protected class” and I was qualified for the job and my employer kept taking adverse actions against me, a totaly of three in a 25 month period , the only ones of my career. The first adverse action that was taken against me was on March 11, 2008, however, it contained errors that I have documentary evidence to support. For example it stated that I didn’t do certain things, however, I was in another department working and my desk was being covered by another individual who didn’t do the work. My manager had the schedule and he knew that I was in intake on 2/22/08 but he didn’t care, he ignored the evidence and still suspended me because my higher up boss wanted it done. However, my bosses didn’t care about my documentary evidence that they screwed up and gave me the option of a one day suspension or a 30 day work improvement program. If I would have fought, they would have terminated me and I was only 4 years away from retirement. Then, two years later, I made an error due to work environment issues, and my boss suspended me again (these hits are really coming from the Clerk of Court because he wanted me gone long ago). I had never been warned about these events or received written warnings. They went to the extreme to justify eventually terminated me. I’ve been in fear of my job since 2004 when I had been told that the Clerk of Court tried to fasify documents to justify firing me. Then on April 22, 2010 (the acutal adverse action states April 22, 2009), I was terminated from my employment for not serving a civil minute order timely. However, almost all clerks ouside my protected class made this mistake. I have documentary evidence that clerks outside my protected class made this identical error and received no displinary action, however, I was fired. Management didn’t train us properly and this is why this error is being made. My work force consisted of 14 whites 11 hispanics and 1 black (me). The same day I was fired, my boss put in the paper for a programmer position which will be paying 4 thousand dollars less than what I was making. I had to call washington, dc in order to get my annual leave payout, because the clerk of court was trying to starve me and he wouldn’t sign the documents, inaddition he challenged my unemployment and now I have to appeal it, which is going to take months to get done. However, I will show with documentary evidence that the same error they fired me for, other clerks made the same one and worse. Attorneys are afraid to take my case because I worked for the Federal Government and they don’t want any part, but I’m not afraid at all. I’m proud that I was able to last as long as I did, but i knew they were out to get me and it was just a matter of time. The emotional stress and since of failure has somewhat destroyed me and I have to find a way to get back on my feet. I’ve since found a great paralegal who’s steered me in the right direction and I’ve filed a 10 million dollar tort claim against the United States Bankruptcy Court for discrimination, however, I know they wont pay it, so I’ll have to file a complaint in District Court. The laws make it almost impossible to prove and I do see why attorneys are relunctant to take the case, however, I have so much evidence to prove my case. I will be putting them on the six o’clock news as soon as I can. I know most of the anchor men. Time is on my side. This is a new world for me. Does anyone have any advice for me because my goal is to take this all the way. I’ve can easily prove prima facie.
Thanks

How do you overcome “Math Anxiety” during exams ?
Question by sophomore: How do you overcome “Math Anxiety” during exams ?
I know this sound retarded abit. but damn i ‘m taking Statistics (for science) this semester and i ‘ve studied and studied to prepare for an upcoming test, and then during that day , when the test paper was infront me, maybe because there was a short time limit, I suddenly got this “panic and blank blocked mindedness” in me which i felt nervous and my brain is “blank and blocked”,
Hellll , it was even a OPEN BOOK TEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F***K. i’m not kidding, maybe i had a cold that morning, but i just went *blank* sitting through the 15 minutes and very nervous. I knew those questions when i do those exercises at home (though they were quite complex, many steps involved.) , but when I was sitting in front of the test paper staring at the 2 long questions my mind just kept going: ” alrite…. which theory is this case talking about, which formula is this case talking about… how do you make sense of this case into the hypothesis and use which formulas we ‘ve learnt…….”
I KNEW HOW TO DO THAT SIMILAR QUESTION *AT HOME*. but when I was sitting there in the test, the question seemed *****STRANGE&UNFAMILIAR***** to me again, quite complex and many steps involved, i was conscious of the time (15 minutes allowed), so my mind started to get *nervous* and next is *blocked* , unable to *think* (like no mental clarity), e.g. “ok ..ok … how do you do this question, how do you break down this question, which formula do you use, where do you begin….. ok ok where was i again ….?” LIke a loop that leads to nowhere back to the beginning. At the end THE TEST ANSWERS WAS UNANSWERED(even though i knew how to do the question at home) @!!!!! F@CK !!!!!!!
That’s 12.5% of my final grade *GONE* !
Why did this happen ???? Under the test environment, i suddenly *forgot* how to do the same questions that i was able to do at home (maybe too many mini steps involved). even though it was a goddamn OPEN BOOK TEST. I need to study at least a week for math exam (because i ‘m not a math person) and yet able to forget about everything during the test, WHAT SHOULD I DO ?
How can I overcome this *MATH ANXIETY AMNESIA* (besides telling to do alot of exercises, because I alread DID, i ‘ve devoted an *entire* week for this a math exam, yet this can happen at the end.
There’s a mid term exam coming up for maths, i don’t want this to happen again during the test, just talking about the word *test* , i ‘m already feeling abit nervous here. I don’t want to fail this stats, i won’t be able to advance into the next level science course not unless waiting for another year ,
How can I overcome this MATH ANXIETY (—>amnesia) problem ? thanks
